What I've Been Stitching

Well as per usual I am working on several things at once so sometimes progress seems to be slow.  I am joining in with Chooky's SAL of Anni Down's "Nature's Journey". February's blocks are finished -
I am using greyish backgrounds with a touch of red, green, mustard and brown.

I am also stitching Lisa's (FignBerry) Christmas bom - almost finished block one - just the writing to go -

And the CGT Club this year has a vintage sewing theme, so how could I resist that.  I have just started this one so not a lot of progress to show as yet -

And the photo doesn't do it justice - this block is from Melissa Grant of One Day in May and I've decided to stitch it on lovely cream linen.  Four lovely CGTs per block to play with.

Hopefully I get some time on the weekend to do some more on this one. Trying very hard to keep up with them all. Cheryl

Friends

Another lovely day on Saturday spent with friends at Mill Rose in Ballan - always lots of talking, a little stitching and some shopping -
See what I mean about lots of talking lol.
I didn't participate in the swap this time. Not a lot of time to sew with moving house. These were the gorgeous placemats Barb received (made by very talented Kim).
Shez received lots of gorgeous goodies from Lyn.
And of course I had to buy some goodies. I did try to stick to what I needed for current projects I am working on, BUT the gorgeous xmas fabric and xmas wallhanging pattern "Deck the Halls" just begged me to buy them - I know it's only February.

Now my lovely friend Shez picked me up and boy did she have the most wonderful surprise for me. I was a lucky winner on her blog of one of her "random acts of kindness" - so lovely and generous of her.  This was my gorgeous gift -
A wonderful basket full of homemade goodies.
Yummy homemade biscuits.  The banana choc chip ones are looking a bit light on here.  They were delicious.
As well there was lovely jams, pickles, chutney and homegrown beetroot and a lovely bottle of Moscato.  I'll have to be hiding these - they are hubbies favorites.  Shez I loved my most gorgeous yummy gifts - thankyou so much for spoiling me.

Some New Projects

Well I know I have promised that this year will be spent finishing some UFOs, BUT having said that lol I have already started some new projects while doing some work on the UFOs.  I have joined up with Chooky in a SAL -
Anni Down's new BOM "Natures Journey".
Lots of small blocks for the outer border. Have bits and pieces done towards Month 1.  I have chosen reds, mustards, browns and greens.
My other new project is a Christmas BOM from Lisa of FignBerry Creations.  This is stitched in lovely Mistletoe and I have picked a lovely grey/green spot fabric - not that you can tell from this photo. I'll see if I can't get a better photo when more progress is made.

Well back to the UFOs. Cheryl

I'm Still Here

I know - I have been a bit quiet in the blogging stakes for 2 or 3 weeks, but we have been  moving house, so not much time for blogging, let alone stitching.
Lol this is how things are looking.  So I thought tonight it's time to prioritise, so -

ta da - Priority No 1. All done and dusted. I did briefly, just for a moment, think maybe the kitchen should be No 1, but we have cups and plates. Maybe that can be No 2 tomorrow night.
Before the packing up started I had been stitching these very cute little pillows - a Lynette Anderson design, a gift from my gorgeous friend Karen.  While I was going I stitched two - one for me and one for a gift.

I have also finished the little paper pieced star flowers from the workshop I did with Lisa and Lou from Max and Louise Pattern Co.  The birds, and lots of leaves, to go.  Cheryl
